Camp Description

The Native Youth Camp primary location will occur at Twin Arrows Casino, Flagstaff, Arizona.   The participants will learn hands-on skills in a learning environment for a few days at Twin Arrows Casino conference rooms, led by knowledgeable entrepreneurs and guest speakers.  The camp will include travel to Navajo and Hopi farms located in the Western Agency of the Navajo Nation, and into the Hopi Nation; with utilization of Chapter Houses for discussion and camp gathering as needed.  These travel days will include the students interacting with the farm and farmers for content for their end of the week project.  At the end of the week, the participants will present their project to fellow-camp participants, family, and camp mentors.

The Native Youth Camp is a place to offer a wide variety of experiences to the participants, encourage creativity and leadership, provide exposure to various job opportunities, and to promote rural sustainability through water and food systems by encouraging youth to help communities especially in food-desert areas of the Navajo and Hopi Nations.

Transportation and Travel – We Got You!

Two locations for camp participant pick-up and drop-off is the Hobby Lobby parking lot in Flagstaff and the Leupp Elementary school parking lot in Leupp.  The camp participant must arrive promptly to their nearest pick-up location each day so that the van departs on time.  If the camp participant misses the van, they must arrange their own transportation to the location that day.  It is strongly encouraged that the camp participant attends all five days of the camp to learn the objectives each day.
