KARMA’s unique origins emerged from the 2018 Innoventure Product Challenge, which tasked Navajo middle schools to design and 3D print Navajo head start theme toys; this combined 3D printing and entrepreneurship. This initial program was seeded from a Kellogg Foundation grant incubated from Navajo Technical University (NTU) Innovation Center. We recognized that by creating culturally-situated programs we were connecting deeper with communities and schools. In 2020, KARMA saw the significance of running STEAM driven programs for rural communities that evolved to incorporated as a nonprofit.

Remembrance of Susan Becker
KARMA would like to honor Susan Becker who was a founding member of the mission and vision of KARMA. Becker dedicated years supporting programs, growing organization(s), and providing entrepreneurial indigenous-led initiatives across the southwest. Without her tenacious efforts to support Native communities she leaves a legacy of many impacted community members.
